Individual, Couples and Parent Counseling.

Individual Therapy

Online individual Therapy.

Deciding to go to therapy is an important decision. For many it is one of the best decisions they may make for themselves. We understand that it is not necessarily an easy decision to make. For some people, there is a great deal of stigma attached to therapy. Sometimes family values or fear of being seen as mentally ill may get in the way. But you know what… your family does not need to know that you are seeing a therapist, unless you decide to tell them.

If your are BIPOC or QBIPOC and dealing with trauma because of racist experiences in your life, individual therapy is a great place to find relief. Racial micro-aggression, slurs, micro-insults are a common feature of everyday life for people of color. There may not be an outlet where you can receive support without being further targeted ( such as on social media) and learn skills for coping. Learning how to love and enjoy our lives in the midst of racism, homophobia or other forms of discrimination, is something many of us will have to achieve. We also work with those who have PTSD or Complex PTSD. These issues may also show up an anxiety, depression, relationship problems or more.

Don’t think you have to do this alone because you don’t. In your individual sessions, you and your therapist form a relationship that holds you as you navigate difficult emotional terrain. Your therapist “sees” you and you can express yourself without fear of judgment. The relationship between you and your therapist is at the root of all therapy.

Couples Therapy

Couples Therapy….

Infidelity, fighting or arguing can be a sign that something is wrong or needs to change in a relationship. Many couples enter couples therapy, to repair a relationship or prevent a break in the relationship. Sometimes couples enter therapy after they have decided to separate/divorce. They recognize that they could use some help working through the issues that come with such a decision. Sometimes your couples therapist may work with both of you or one of you, but it is still couples therapy. Don’t wait until things have really headed south… reach out to an online couples therapist sooner rather than later. Online marriage counseling or couples counseling can help change things sooner rather than later. We can help bring that lightness and laughter back into your lives.

Separation or Divorce

This can also be a time when a couple can benefit from couples counseling. When the relationship is really  or almost over, things become painful and can consume a lot of time, energy and financial resources. There may be concerns about child custody agreements and visitation, at a time when people are not feeling so friendly towards each other. Anger, hurt and sadness can cause you to say and /or do things you will later regret. It’s a good time to find a therapist online who can help you navigate these treacherous waters. You can end your relationship in a way that helps each person feel satisfied.
